In line with my generally bad eating habits and true to my Canadian roots, one of my favorite meals has always been poutine! Some days I feel like gravy should be a food group all on its own. There is a whole world of ways in which gravy can be a grand success but, as you’ll see in an upcoming post, it can also be a disappointing failure. Thankfully, the folks at Boomers Gourmet Fries know how to make a very fine gravy. Not to mention their wonderfully crispy fries. Aside from these delicious elements, my favorite part about their poutine is that, even half way through, there is still plenty of gravy and cheese to be had. There is no point where you end up left with naked fries.
As you can see, I’m not the only one who loves the poutine here. I took the photo with the sandwich board out front of the shop. If you’re ever in Stratford and craving some delicious fries smothered in gravy, marinara or chili topped with various tasty toppings then you’ve got to stop here! They do also offer an array of burgers and some fish, so whether it’s a snack or a meal you’re after, there’s bound to be something for you.
One large Two Cheese Poutine came to around $7.
